WORK
Frequent visitors to metahistory.org will know
that this is a site with work in progress, always evolving, developing,
mutating. It is not always easy to keep track of what's cookin',
and some features are incomplete, mere previews of ideas in development.
I am adding this feature to the site to keep
readers informed of the work in progress. Like the home page,
it will be periodically updated to indicate the work that is
complete, and what is in development.

NOTE: As the titles show, these last four
articles relate to the final phase of the extensive work on
Gnosticism presented in this site. My new book, Not
in His Image, will be on sale in late September, so I would
like to have these pieces done by, say, Oct 1.
INFRASTRUCTURE:
LEXICON - This is continually growing. It
needs some updating and organization which I hope to do by
the end of the year.
SITE MAP - One version, present all texts in alphabetic
order, is now available. A second version, by categories,
will be ready soon.
NAVIGATORS - Don't forget
to use these to get oriented to the site.
EVENTS & ACTIVITIES - currently suspended due to lack of
personnel to keep it current. Right now I'm maintaining the
entire site by myself.
THE CACHE - "John's Views" has a portal
page ("Peace Eye") linking to the six categories
of writings - Gnostic Folk Medicine, Views Toward Alignment,
Metacritique, Believe it or Not, Socratic Sessions, Mythbusting
101 - that needs to be updated. At present, all the articles
that belong
in
these groups are not linked from this page. I will get to this
when I can.
BIBLIOGRAPHY - This is
out of date. I am behind by about 120-150 entries. Due to lack
of assistance I can't say when this will be updated.
COMING
UP:
In the future I will be working more closely with Joanna Harcourt-Smith
on futureprimitive, our
sister site, featuring podcasts and recorded interviews, including
some recorded lectures of mine. There will be close coordination between
the textual and oral aspects of
the two
sites.
Toward the end of the year I will
be writing in a new vein, compatible with the Metahistory
Forum and issues of gender conflict, sexual and spiritual
healing, etc. This change of content is compatible
with the primary intention of the site: to examine
belief systems and expose the ideology and tactics
of patriarchy, perpetrator religion, and the dominator
mindset. But the new work will go into the more intimate,
personal and interpersonal aspects of these issues.
Joanna and I believe strongly that the challenge to go beyond patriarchy
has to be met on two fronts simultaneously: without and within, as
we encounter domination in the world, as we are consider the tyranny
of our own sexual and spiritual attitudes. The sickness of domination
disguises itself in many ways, but it is possible to unmask the deception
IF one is honest and real with oneself.
